Our experiences in the travel industry have taught us that not everyone has the same style, budget, or travel preferences. For this reason, Footprint Expeditions offers you 12 different travel style selections. We are sure that within this group of 12 you will find one that fits you just right.
These trips are designed for people that love the outdoors and enjoy the challenges that it offers. Expect to hike on average 8 hours a day for a minimum of three days. Also, raft in class V white water rapids in some of the world’s deepest canyons. Bike for days on roads that descend from the high peaking Andean mountains to the low Amazon basin, hop on a motor bike and explore the Panamerican highway, or drive along dirt roads, high passes, or muddy lanes in the wetlands. These trips will give you access to breathtaking sights that are considered off of the beaten track. It is necessary to be in good physical condition to partake in these trips.
Our adventure trips combine outdoor activities, meeting local people, and learning about new cultures. Travel on local buses and spend the night in small hostels and hotels full of character and charm. Travel for three weeks around Peru and hike the Inca Trail. Or, travel around Argentina and hike through Patagonia to reach the Glacier National Park. Average physical condition is needed to enjoy these trips.
In our classic trips you will immerse yourself in the cultures and places that you visit. Our tour leaders and company representatives will give you the key to interact with local people and the communities that you visit. Become enchanted by the wildlife and learn about medicinal plants from the area. We will show the truth and beauty of each magnificent place without it being too physically demanding.
Our expedition trips will take you around all of South America, starting with visits to most of the capital cities of South American countries. You can get on or off at any of these points from our Great South American Expedition. If you have a long holiday, took a year off from college, or are in between jobs and need a break, these trips are designed for you. Visit the most exciting cities in this region, take Spanish or Portuguese language courses, learn how to dance the tango, samba, or salsa, or simply lay back on a hammock in a boat trip down the Amazon river.
This trip will provide unforgettable family experiences and all who partake will discover another way of traveling with a safe and educational adventure. We will provide you with some facilities and items of comfort such as an experienced tour leader, private transportation, and small and cozy hotels with the facilities that your family might need. For your convenience, there are no age limits. Experience White Water River Rafting from the Sacred Valley of the Incas to snorkel trips in Brazil!
Designed for individuals who do not have much time to travel but have still been bitten by the travel bug, this trip style gives you the freedom to arrange your holidays according to your preferences. Or if you are solely looking for a short adventure in a place where you may have already been staying, you can book a trek in Patagonia or hike the Inca Jungle Trail with us. Also, it is possible to book each trip with different comfort levels that best suit your preferences.
These trips are made for party people that want to blend into society and participate in some of the greatest festivals and parties in South America or witness special cultural and natural events. Dance the samba until sunrise at the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro, be amazed by the Festival of the Sun in Cuzco, or witness the light and shadow effects in Machupicchu during the winter Solstice.
The romanticism of a honey moon can be lived in another way; we avoid the classic honey moon destinations. These romantic holidays are going to take you to hot and beautiful destinations in South America. Spend a week skiing and drinking wine in Bariloche or on a boat trip traveling around the unique Galapagos Islands.
If you are tired of the ordinary vacation spots and sightseeing and would like to do something to help various communities instead, you will be interested in this trip. Work with children living on the streets (more commonly known as street kids), help communities improve their quality of life, or just help take care of our beloved planet. Help kids in elementary school at Ccaccaccollo, an Andean Community, or plant trees at the Monterosa Project. Join us in experiencing a unique adventure that will give you enough memories to last a lifetime.
If any of our trip descriptions does not fit your personality or style, we can offer you the opportunity to create your own! There are no limits with accommodation, transportation, included tours, transfers, or escorts. Create your trip however you wish or get in contact with one of our adventure specialists to get more information or advice.
These special departure trips are only available around these holidays. Enjoy this special time of year in a different way as well as learn and participate in the way that other people throughout the world celebrate the holidays. Spend a few weeks enjoying the food and wine of Chile and Argentina, participate in the traditional Christmas customs in Cuzco, watch the sun rise in Machupicchu for after New Years Eve, or party until the next day dressed all in white on a beach in Brazil.
